I have an abundance of love for the ladies at LitJoy. This wasn’t my favorite crate with them, but I still love them dearly.
Again, I am slightly bitter, because I already own this book, and this has been happening more and more lately! I wish there was someway to avoid this, but I can’t very well not purchase every recent popular release. Sometimes I need to get my hands on them the MOMENT THEY’RE OUT.
That being said, LitJoy is a monthly YA, children’s, and now MIDDLE GRADE subscription box that includes one current title and specially curated items to accompany it in one pretty blue box.
This month we got:
- “X on Ice” Ice Bath Salts by Literary Apothecary
I tried these and they didn’t dissolve, thus, I had to shower off because little clumps of salt were stuck to every conceivable place on my body.
- Nerdy Cat Watch
I know some of these items seem really bizarre, but the crate comes with a little booklet explaining everything, right down to the Skittle Snack Pack, which actually plays a role in the book.
- Lowlands Candle by In the Wick of Time
Not my favorite scent, but I do love In the Wick of Time.
- Skittles Snack Pack
- Carabiner Hook/Keychain
I was confused when I saw this too, it’s okay. Each item described in the booklet has a specific line/paragraph from the book there to support its appearance in the crate. Do not fret.
- Lily and James Print
Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
- The Edge of Everything by Jeff Giles
I’m so grumpy.
For the perfect love, what would you be willing to lose?
It’s been a shattering year for seventeen-year-old Zoe, who’s still reeling from her father’s shocking death in a caving accident and her neighbors’ mysterious disappearance from their own home. Then on a terrifying subzero, blizzardy night in Montana, she and her brother are brutally attacked in the woods–only to be rescued by a mysterious bounty hunter they call X.
X is no ordinary bounty hunter. He is from a hell called the Lowlands, sent to claim the soul of Zoe’s evil attacker and others like him. X is forbidden from revealing himself to anyone other than his prey, but he casts aside the Lowlands’ rules for Zoe. As they learn more about their colliding worlds, they begin to question the past, their fate, and their future. But escaping the Lowlands and the ties that bind X might mean the ultimate sacrifice for them both.
