February 14th I got…

Beautiful Creatures! Mostly because I do this thing where I watch the same movie over and over every night, just because I need something familiar to fall into so my mind doesn’t trap me in its depths, and this happened to be one of the movies I watched on repeat for like three weeks straight, so I decided I ought to get the book and voila, here I am being weird with it.

Look at that pretty LA sunset. Pro tip: use a lens that will focus out the hideousness of LA, and just make it look like dreamy pink fuzz.

There’s also another edition of this book that is far and away prettier, it’s black with purple lettering, I strongly recommend it. I believe it’s available on Amazon.

Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she’s struggling to conceal her power, and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.

Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town’s oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them.

In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything.
