Book Crate Unboxing – OwlCrate (December 2016)

December’s OwlCrate wowed, even though I got totally spoiled on Instagram at least ten times.

I’m trying to motivate myself to write something fun and exciting so you’ll feel like you can’t wait until I post again, but I’m just fuckin blanking guys and concurrently watching a man as he tried to open a beer bottle with a cucumber.

So in this month’s “Epic” crate we got:

Hedwig photobombing>>>>

Oooooo update: the guy cut the cucumber all weird and then just used it as a baseball bat and swatted the bottle off a ledge onto the ground. #genius

I think Game of Thrones sucks, I just had to throw it out there. I am unpopular in my opinion however, so I’m sure others thought this part of the box rocked. I will say, I gave Game of Thrones a fair try and ultimately didn’t find myself all that enthralled with a bunch of medieval people getting molested

  • Mystery Mini Figurine from Funko

A bunch of people got the other Harry Potter characters–obviously, as it was a mystery–but I got Hedwig, which I just feel is profoundly better than any of the others and thereby reinstates my theory that the universe is on my side.

Another show I didn’t particularly take to, but I’m still obsessed with this pin and will use it.

  • A Darker Shade of Magic-inspired Sticker
  • Exclusive Greeting Card from Susanne Draws Inspired by The Chronicles of Narnia

Well this was certainly a popular release this month as I received it in both my OwlCrate and my Novel Tea Club crate, which I’ll be unboxing on The Unadulterated Thinkings tomorrow.

I believe this title is LGBT+, which is always a good thing.

I am now watching my friend Alex talk about her most disappointing reads of 2016 because apparently I need several sources of distraction to stay motivated today.

Description:

Betrothed since childhood to the prince of Mynaria, Princess Dennaleia has always known what her future holds. Her marriage will seal the alliance between Mynaria and her homeland, protecting her people from other hostile kingdoms. But Denna has a secret. She possesses an Affinity for fire—a dangerous gift for the future queen of a land where magic is forbidden.

Now Denna has to learn the ways of her new kingdom while trying to hide her growing magic. To make matters worse, she must learn to ride Mynaria’s formidable warhorses before her coronation—and her teacher is the person who intimidates her most, the prickly and unconventional Princess Amaranthine, sister of her betrothed.

When a shocking assassination leaves the kingdom reeling, Mare and Denna reluctantly join forces to search for the culprit. As the two work together, they discover there is more to one another than they thought—and soon their friendship is threatening to blossom into something more.

But with dangerous conflict brewing that makes the alliance more important than ever, acting on their feelings could be deadly. Forced to choose between their duty and their hearts, Mare and Denna must find a way to save their kingdoms—and each other.

Next month’s theme is Classic Remix!! Subscribe, subscribe, subscribe. And if you want to watch a guy open a bottle with a cucumber, comment below and I’ll give you the link lol.

Okay bye.
