This was my first month with Novel Tea Club! I’ve decided to try out each book crate for a few months to find my favorites since subscribing to all forty of them isn’t exactly ideal. I have to say, I really liked this crate. I really liked the book choice, I liked the overall presentation, and I especially liked the chocolate stick, even though mine came a little fucked up. However, when I put the chocolate situation on my Instagram story, Novel Tea Club immediately responded, offering to send a non-fucked up chocolate stick, which I respectfully declined, because chocolate is chocolate, and the mess it made was simple enough to clean up. Just thought I would mention how kind and attentive they are to their customers.
This crate is different in that, while it has categories, they’re genre categories. Most crates are arranged by young adult, adult, or picture book. And with Novel Tea Club, you get to pick what kind of book you receive, which I think is really cool. I believe I picked young adult for mine, but I may have also picked romance. You see, I’m unsure.
It would be cool if they offered to send you two books, should you want your crate to include both young adult and romance.
I would like that very much.
Here’s how it works:
Choose the box that strikes your fancy-romance, sci-fi or fantasy, or young adult!
Boxes containing a great night in are shipped between the 20-25th of every month. Cut off for that month is the 21st, or when sold out,
Open your box, and enjoy your perfect night in!
This month’s Novel Tea Club Crate included:
- Christmasaurus post card
- Kill the Boy Band temporary tattoo
- Mortar and Petal Tea
So, I tried this tea, and I have to say, I realllllllllly didn’t like it. I didn’t like the smell of it steeped or dry. And I didn’t like the flavor either.
- Indulge coffee grounds (flavor: apple pie)
Gave this to my mom because I don’t drink coffee and she much appreciated it.
- Chocolate stick (not picture because… I ate it.)
Was good. Obviously. I ate it in like half a second.
- Kill the Boy Band by Goldy Moldavsky
This month’s book is a book I’ve wanted for awhile, but could never get myself to buy as I wasn’t totally drawn in by just the back flap description.
Just know from the start that it wasn’t supposed to go like this. All we wanted was to get near them. That’s why we got a room in the hotel where they were staying.
We were not planning to kidnap one of them. Especially not the most useless one. But we had him-his room key, his cell phone, and his secrets.
We were not planning on what happened next.
From thrilling new talent Goldy Moldavsky comes a pitch-black, hilarious take on fandom and the badass girls who have the power to make-or break-the people we call “celebrities.”
I’m really looking forward to next month’s crate. If you want to subscribe for December’s box with a promo code, please visit my friend Alexandria’s Instagram, @thebooksbuzz, and find her photo unboxing of this month’s crate a few rows back. She’s a rep for Novel Tea Club and has a promo code you can use! Don’t forget to follow her as well 😉
