Book Crate Unboxing – Cozy Reader Club (November 2016)

I’ve said it once, and I will say it again, this is by far THE best book crate there is. There are no other crates that come within a ten-mile radius of the amount of love I have for this one. They just know how to curate THE BEST box ever, need I say more? The feels! The coziness! The treats and goodies! It’s everything a cozy book lover could ever want in a subscription box and… probably more.

The Perfect Box of Me Time

Shhh… I know your secret.

The secret longing you have for some alone time…some “me” time. The secret debate you have with yourself about whether you should take some time and do whatever you damn well please. To put aside the stress for a moment, slip into your cozy bed and just relax for a few minutes. But here’s a little secret…  “Me” time is within your reach.  And no it’s not selfish.  It’s essential.

Each month with the Cozy Reader Club, you’ll discover a beautifully curated box full of everything you need for some meaningful ‘me’ time, including:

-a recently released hardcover women’s fiction novel

-artisan coffee, tea or hot chocolate

-beautiful handmade items

-gourmet handcrafted treats

So pour yourself a hot cup of tea, slide into your favorite comfy chair and get ready for some meaningful “me” time.

Okay. Let’s discuss November’s amazing box, shall we? It was my favorite one to date.

Also, PSA: Please excuse the out of focus up close shots, I was haste-shooting/screaming about the majesty of what I was seeing and couldn’t, apparently, keep still.

This month we got:

Friendly note: make sure to use a lot of leaves when steeping, as I’ve noticed anything under a large spoonful doesn’t produce a whole lot of taste.

Really soft, and also, very large. Looked a little bit strange on moi, but the same applies to almost every hat I own, so can’t really take away much from that observation. I look like shit in hats, simply put.

I like the IDEA of this brownie. Apple blondie in fall? Yes.

But the brownie itself wasn’t very good. Of course, taste is subjective, so take that with a grain of salt. Also, you guys know I don’t eat sugar, so that definitely tied into it some as it was too “sugary” for me.

Who am I?

The message says “Tea Time Me Time”.

And it’s sort of unbearably cute.

But, since I don’t eat sugar, I will not be using it for tea sadly. But I’m still in love with it, it’s my favorite item in the crate besides the book of course.

IT’S MAGICAL REALISM!

I REPEAT, IT’S MAGICAL REALISM, which is one of my FAVORITE GENRES. AND A GENRE WE DON’T SEE ENOUGH OF.

AND.

*has miniature stroke*

IT HAS GOOD REVIEWS. BECAUSE I CHECKED. BECAUSE I’M A LIL SUSPICIOUS OF COZY READER CLUB’S BOOK SELECTIONS SINCE READING THEIR SEPTEMBER PICK, TRULY MADLY GUILTYWHICH WAS… HORRIBLE.

THEY DID IT.

*has to catch breath*

Description:

Growing up on Long Island, Shelby Richmond is an ordinary girl until one night an extraordinary tragedy changes her fate. Her best friend’s future is destroyed in an accident, while Shelby walks away with the burden of guilt.

What happens when a life is turned inside out? When love is something so distant it may as well be a star in the sky? Faithful is the story of a survivor, filled with emotion—from dark suffering to true happiness—a moving portrait of a young woman finding her way in the modern world. A fan of Chinese food, dogs, bookstores, and men she should stay away from, Shelby has to fight her way back to her own future. In New York City she finds a circle of lost and found souls—including an angel who’s been watching over her ever since that fateful icy night.

Here is a character you will fall in love with, so believable and real and endearing, that she captures both the ache of loneliness and the joy of finding yourself at last. For anyone who’s ever been a hurt teenager, for every mother of a daughter who has lost her way, Faithful is a roadmap.

I think I’ll add this to my TBR for next month.

BRAVA COZY READER CLUB, MY PSYCHOTIC DEVOTION LIVES ON.
