OwlCrate is one of the darker crates I’m subscribed to, though I’ve noticed a lot of the YA crates tend to be a little on the darker side with the titles and bookish goodies they select to include.
I’m not terribly into their most recent selections, but I do like the crate in its entirety (this of course is because book taste is completely subjective and I am not typically a fan of anything that isn’t contemporary, literary, etc.). Honestly, unboxing it every month is a serious highlight.

It’s an incredibly affordable and fair price considering all you get in the crate, and especially considering that a normal hardcover is upwards of $30.
In this month’s Wonderland OwlCrate we got:
- Alice in Wonderland-inspired tea and magnet
For the record, this tea smells incredible, and I’ve already used, like, half the teabags.
My favorite thing about all these crates is how drool-worthy they are when it comes to sticking with a theme. Who doesn’t want a bunch of bookish accessories to perfectly accompany your current read?
- Authored Adornments bookmark
Y’all should have heard my gasp when I unboxed this bookmark on my story on Instagram. It was an AUDIBLE gasp if I don’t say so myself. This is for sure my favorite item I received this month. It ALSO features a passage taken from Alice in Wonderland (ah, let that perfect theme wash over you with a nice, long sigh).
- November’s Wonderland (this month’s theme) button
- A letter from the author of Heartless to all the OwlCrate subscribers
- Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland + Bookmark
- Heartless by Marissa Meyer
I’ve noticed that the majority of the editions I’ve seen of this book are black and red, and I actually like this cover better!
Also, the book has good reviews that I’ve read so far–just FYI.
Long before she was the terror of Wonderland—the infamous Queen of Hearts—she was just a girl who wanted to fall in love.
Long before she was the terror of Wonderland, she was just a girl who wanted to fall in love. Catherine may be one of the most desired girls in Wonderland, and a favorite of the unmarried King of Hearts, but her interests lie elsewhere. A talented baker, all she wants is to open a shop with her best friend. But according to her mother, such a goal is unthinkable for the young woman who could be the next queen.
Then Cath meets Jest, the handsome and mysterious court joker. For the first time, she feels the pull of true attraction. At the risk of offending the king and infuriating her parents, she and Jest enter into an intense, secret courtship. Cath is determined to define her own destiny and fall in love on her terms. But in a land thriving with magic, madness, and monsters, fate has other plans.
Good crate!! Looking forward to December! The theme is “Epic”.
