Book Crate Unboxing – &Book (September 2016)

I ordered &Book’s VERY FIRST CRATE and was pleasantly surprised to find how well put together it was. The theme was Secrets and Books and they didn’t disappoint.

Among the wide variety of bookish goods and goodies there were: A bracelet, notebook, pin, hot chocolate, and a tiny book bag.

And of course, My Husband’s Wife by Jane Corry.

I definitely like the green hard cover version of the book better than the paper back and typically prefer hardcovers in my book crates… and newer books–but nevertheless, this was an awesome first box. I’m surprise they had it available for the U.S. too, as they are located all the way across the ocean in Europe. I guess that explains why my box looks like it was run over by a semi-truck lol.

Book Description:

When young lawyer Lily marries Ed, she’s determined to make a fresh start. To leave the secrets of the past behind. But then she takes on her first murder case and meets Joe. A convicted murderer whom Lily is strangely drawn to. Whom she will soon be willing to risk anything for.

But Lily is not the only one with secrets. Her next-door neighbor Carla may be only nine, but she has already learned that secrets are powerful things. That they can get her whatever she wants.

When Lily finds Carla on her doorstep sixteen years later, a chain of events is set in motion that can end only one way.

I did like that they gave us a handwritten note and explained they made the choice of this book as their first because they read and enjoyed it thoroughly. I’ve had a few crates come with terrible books where I questioned whether the curators read the book at all.

Anyway, looking forward to another &book box! Subscribe for your box here:
