July 19th I got…

A really beat up copy of The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick.

The story is… I really wanted the first edition. I HATE movie covers for books, they’re always so lame, and I would rather I had the actual work before Hollywood got its hands on it. Which in the case of this book, I’m glad it did.

But anyway, so I get on Abebooks and finally find a copy of this book, I swear, there must be like ten total left in the world.

The listing says it’s practically new, very minimal wear and tear. So I get the package in the mail, open it up, and lo and behold, it’s actually like a stolen book from the Sonoma County Library. And the guy who sold it to me just went through every mention of said library with a big permanent marker to erase any of the evidence, in which case he did a TERRIBLE job.

So, yep. That’s what I got today. I’ll be on the lookout for a better version. Taking applications.
